Hosted by the Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the gala celebrates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan. This year's theme, "Weaving the Future Together," reflects not only the enduring friendship between our two countries, but also our shared commitment to building a brighter and more sustainable future together.
Over the past six decades, Singapore and Japan have built strong connections through business, culture, creativity and community. Like individual threads woven together, our different stories, strengths and traditions have created a relationship that is richer and stronger than either could create alone.
Our Shared Challenges
As both our nations face shifting demographics and the shared challenges of tomorrow—from talent shortages to aging populations—we must actively weave a new safety net. At the heart of this gala is our shared responsibility to support the next generation of leaders. Proceeds will directly empower women and children, with a special focus on those affected by earthquakes in the Noto Peninsula and Kumamoto.
By supporting these causes, we are doing more than giving to charity; we are investing in human capital and the long-term sustainability of the communities where we live, work, and do business.
